Giving Athletes an Edge Over Their Competition

Ready to Get Your Vision Into Shape?

It takes way more than strength and speed to be at the top of your game.

The skills required by an athlete — those that make the difference between good and extraordinary — depend on vision skills which can be perfected.

Baseball, tennis and football are examples of sports games that require the skills and abilities to keep your eyes focused on the ball.

Football receivers and quarterbacks need a high level of tracking and depth perception to complete a pass, as well as high peripheral vision awareness.

Sports vision training can enhance the communication between your eyes, brain and body, to help you excel in your sport and turn your vision into an invaluable asset on the court or field.

Sport Vision FAQs

I have 20/20 vision. Why should I do sports vision training?

Thinking that 20/20 vision is the equivalent of perfect vision is a common misconception. Visual acuity and visual skills are two separate things. Visual acuity tests measure how well you can read letters from a chart, but it can’t predict how well you’ll see the ball or how quickly you’ll react to visual stimuli. It's common for people with 20/20 vision to lack the visual skills needed to truly excel in their sport.

What does sports vision training involve?

The sports vision specialist will consult with you, administer eye tests, and provide you with a custom-designed treatment program best suited for your needs and aspirations. During the weekly in-office sessions, the specialist will assign home exercises, measure your progress, and adjust the program as needed.

What tests do I need for sports vision?

During the initial consultation, a sports vision specialist will give you an eye exam to determine your eye health and visual skills. The eye exam may test the following:

  • Visual acuity
  • Contrast sensitivity
  • Eye tracking
  • Focus
  • Depth perception

**Amended, I was called and my situation was discussed, options were provided, and ultimately they h... ave done what they could to make it right. That is service one can appreciate. The initial exam and everything was great. The doctor who saw to me was fantastic. Everything else, not great. I went in wanting contacts. I said it every chance I could get, but mentioned I was cautious because the last time I tried them (over a decade ago), it didn't go well. This place was recommended to me by someone who experienced the same thing I did with contacts and said they were great. I was given sample packs to check out, and then that was it in terms of the contacts. No instructions on how to use them (I did my research and got them to work), no questions about going forward with them, nothing. I was, in my opinion, rushed to pick out glasses which I specified was my second choice. Then nothing was really explained in that process, all these options were chosen (if I'm being fair I probably would have chose them anyway) but nothing was discussed in terms of pricing or if I choose glasses, I won't be allowed to use my insurance against my contacts purchase, and on top of that it was nearly $700.00. I should have stopped the whole process but I haven't had an opportunity to go to an eye physician since 2017. As much as I liked the doctor, I won't be going back. When I picked up my glasses and asked about the contacts part, it seemed like the blame was being put on me. They weren't malicious per se, but very passively it seemed like they were saying it was my fault I didn't get contacts and then told me after all that about the part where I couldn't get contacts as well. Plus, I never received a contact prescription either nor was I fitted for any so it's not like I can just go buy them myself without likely having to fork over more money. I rarely ever give a negative review but this one I feel is earned.
